A busy day!

This is Miss Tammy #2. Tammy works with our First Steps program which is a early intervention program. Tammy came today to evaluate us for physical therapy in regards to our toe walking. The kids have been walking on their toes pretty much since they have been walking. Nate and Alli are showing some tightening in their legs and Emma does not seem to show so much. Everyone was evaluated because they all do it more then frequently. If I say "get off your toes" once in a day I say it 3000 times. So our report was great. Tammy is not concerned at all. She did fill a bit of tightness with Nate and Alli but said they have very good range of motion and are doing some things ahead of schedule. She did go over some things to continue working on to prevent tightening and said to continue the good habits we have with reminding them to stay off their toes. When she told me they did not qualify for treatment I was of course thrilled and told her that we (the two occupational therapist and developmental therapist, Donnie and myself) were not looking to add pt we were looking for guidance to prevent it from getting any worse.

While Tammy and I was talking the kids got up in the chair and was siting so nicely together that I just reached up and grabbed the camera. They even smiled a bit for me. This is a rare moment to get them all together and happy. While Tammy was here Emma had told me she had to go potty but it was a bit to late so we got her cleaned up and went back to playing. The girls have both been telling us for the past week that they have to go potty but it is always after the fact. Nate knows the correct response if we know he is stinky and will go to the bedroom to get changed. I never even had the thoughts of potty training this early. It some what scares me. It will bring on a whole new batch of things to think about if they continue to roll down that path. Like taking them out of their cribs, which I am no where close to wanting to think about that! Oh well we are going to buy a potty this weekend and will see how this goes. I am afraid it is going to go pretty well, see next picture...
When I started hearing the babies waking up from their nap, I guess I need to be calling them toddlers :( I went in because I thought they were all awake but Emma was still sleeping so I was handing out snuggles when Emma joined us with the help of Nate yelling for her at the top of his lungs. When I went to give her some loving all so she was dry so I got her up and took her in to sit on the potty and we were playing peek-a-boo with Nate and Alli, while they were still in the cribs, and we were singing and she all at once began to tinkle and her eyes got like saucers and she was so proud. She looks so proper sitting there with her legs all nicely crossed. We did lots of cheering and clapping and dancing and she was just so excited. So today my little baby A went pee pee on the big girl potty. It may not take to terrible long to potty train the girls. I think the first time Alli feels pee pee running down her legs that will be the end of Little Miss Priss tinkling in her panties. I can't believe they are just 22 months and showing signs of ready to potty train. Is that good or bad? The nasty bathrooms in public...yuk! I guess we will see what happens, for now one day at a time!
We finished off the night with Mamaw and Papaw coming to play. We had these goofy socks on that we thought were the best thing. Alli of course with Jenna, this kid loves that dog. She drags one of the little chairs all around the house to sit by Jenna when she is laying somewhere sleeping. Look at Miss Emma in her little attitude folded arms and precious freshly washed curls! Her hair is just precious until we put her in the car seat or put a lovely warm winter hat on her head.

It took 21 months...

Well, after 21 months and all of my time devoted only to my kids, my work, and my husband, and 15 months of not feeling well, I did it and I survived! You see since the kids were born and a MOMMY was born I have done nothing for me. Recently I even had someone that I look up to and admire very much make a comment after seeing a picture of Donnie and I with the babies said "oh my you look so different with out your glasses and make up on." That day I realized just how much I had let myself go and vowed that I would always go out and to work with make up on and myself put together more like my old self, even though I am not the same person. I know that in no way did she say that to make me feel bad or hurt my feelings, it was just a wake up call. I go one time a month to the mothers of multiples club and one other time my sister n law watched the kids on a weekday and I went out of the house on my own. I love my kids with all my heart and soul and waited my whole life and twelve of the fifteen years of marriage to be a mom and when it happened I felt so complete, finally. I have had very little help. The first year when I went to work we had all volunteer help to keep the kids while we worked. It was all on the weekend and the other five days of the week I was home and/or Donnie was home. Donnie and I have got to run and grab a quick bite to eat when mamaw and papaw was here but that usually is about a hour. We did last year go out to dinner and a movie for our anniversary, other then that I go to work and home. I love being a mom. I wish I could be a stay at home mom. I have had a couple of really bad days and this afternoon at the very perfect moment I was in tears and Amy called me and asked me "how today was?" It has been a pretty ruff couple of weeks as the kids have not been sleeping very well and most of all Alli. Emma and Nate have for sometime had what I think are night terrors and wake up screaming and until they are completely awake they scream. Sometimes it is a couple of minuets and other times it takes a good bit. Once they are awake they will usually go back to sleep and under thirty minuets all is back in bed and that is that till morning. Alli has been the best sleeper since they started sleeping through the night. We have always just put them to bed after being sung to nightly and cover them up with their ever so important silky blankets each in their own way and style. You see they each like the blankets a certain way, one with the blanket laying flat and the silky part up and she lays on top of it with the top two corners folded over her tummy but not her legs and feet covered and the little blankie on the right side of her face but not touching her, one tucked only on one side with the silky part next to his face and the rest the length of his body and the small blankie folded to where the writing is on top so he can rub it, and one keeps hers over her with the silky side touching her face on one side and the little blankie on the opposite side of her face. The bed time routine has changed a bit as they have grown but not much. We start out by doing diapers, brushing, jamies, book, teeth, sing, tell Jesus night and we have now started teaching them how to make the sign of the cross. All at once in the last two weeks Alli has started waking up screaming and as soon as I pick her up she stops crying and I will rock her a bit and go to put her in bed and if she has gone back to sleep or if she is calm but awake as soon as you start to put her back in bed it starts all over again. I am at a loss! I did talk to the pediatrician's office and the nurse felt as though it was possibly night terrors. Not to mention the broken sleep and the periods with her crying when I have tried to let her self sooth has taken it's toll on me. I spent Monday on the phone for long periods of time with the insurance company and her up, and Nate up and they didn't nap well and by the time Amy called me this afternoon I was in tears when she asked me those little words. Since Alli did not nap well and crying at even Nate or Emma looking at her, it was just it. I just wished they were gone for a bit, not that I would ever touch my kids, I was just overwhelmed and when I said that to Amy I immediately felt overwhelmed with guilt. I have of course had bad/trying days in twenty one months just none to where I just wished they were gone for a bit. I know I have never written about many if any bad days but yes our house is a normal house and we have bad days also. Amy said I will come and get them if you will let me take them for a bit. At that moment I needed it so bad! So I am sure she flew as fast as she could before I changed my mind. I hate for them to be away from me and they have not been in the car with anyone else since the first day I went back to work after they came home from the hospital. I was very nervous but yet felt like I could breath just for a minuet. They went out to eat and then played at Amy and Scott's for a bit and they were in their jamies when they got home and ready to just get in bed. I feel really guilty but really have tried not to think much about it. To me not feeling well, I have had extreme pressure in my abdomen since the babies were about five months old. After being blown off by a couple of doctors after my family doctor left family practice and a couple of other things happen with in that office I finally changed doctor's this summer and he immediately started lab work and tests. After the hurry up and wait between the different test and the pressure turning to pain here we are today and on Thursday I see a surgeon to hopefully have my gallbladder taken out. My family doctor and the gi specialist strongly feel after many test and a family history of the women in my family having gallbladder disease and the problem beginning not after just a pregnancy but a triplet pregnancy that this is the problem. So come Thursday hopefully I will know if I could be on the way to hopefully feeling better. Sorry for the novel but as you can tell I have had a couple of bad days. Thanks Amy for calling at the right time for a weak spot to surface! Thanks Scott, Katlyn and Nicholas for giving up your evening to spend it with three toddlers.

Aunt Tammy and the kids got us our own box of animal cookies, Connie got us really cool place mats, and Mame and the group got us baskets that had bugs, snakes and spiders, and Darma the little girl down the street got us duck's. We have spent the better part of Sunday and Monday playing with this cool stuff.

Halloween

The day started off business as usual...Mommy to work before dawn and daddy got the kids ready early because Ginger had to come on Friday this week. Mame came right after Ginge showed up and daddy brought out the new addition to therapy. The trampoline! Ot was loved by all today. Jumping and more jumping and everyone was happy. I got home just as they were finishing up lunch. Amy helped me get everyone ready and loaded up as daddy was arriving home from work and we were off to the races, oops I mean trick or treating, if you could call it that. Our first stop was Walgreens to see Aunt Tammy. Then we went to see Connie and then it was off....
to see Ginger at her feeding clinic. Ginger is one of our OT. She was so glad to see us and took us treating at the offices in her building. Nate caught on real quick as to you put your hand in and you pull out "OH, something to eat!"
I had one pigie and daddy had caught the "bad pigies" that had ran off.
I took this picture on Wednesday when we were trying out our costume see if they liked them. I think it is the best shot of everyone together.
We stoped at Aunt Terrie's and got to see our cousins Tessa and...

Zoe...and a couple others I don't have pictures of...
Our next stop was to grandma and grandpa's (Donnie's mom and dad).

Then we went to see mamaw at work (my step mom) papaw was at work and it was to far out to try to make that stop also. By this time they were screaming as I put them back in their car seat.
We got home and Connie had made dinner and our cousins from mommies side of the family came to trick or treat with us in our neighbor hood.
This was waiting with great patients to get out the door. I ran outside to get them looking out just before we left the house. I knew we would not be gone for long for several reasons, the main one being three tired 21 month olds.
This was our first Official house... Every house we went to said "Oh it is the triplets!"
These are Jordan's jack o lanterns. She lives on our street and loves to play with us on our evening walks.
On our journey we meet Spider Man...aka Dylan. Dylan is Tom and Brandi's son and Tom...
is Miss Alli's godfather...Oh and daddy's friend.
Aunt Tammy was on our walk all ready with us but she is also Miss Emma's godmother...
Once we were back home we sat on the floor to see all the loot we had collected. Some of it was gifts from Aunt Tammy and Aunt Connie. Donnie and I both have siblings but some of our really close friends have become aunts and uncles to us. I remember when I was growing up we all had "mom's and dad's or aunt's and uncle's that was just inherited through friends and neighbors and these kiddos are no different.
They all made out like little bandits and was so into seeing what they had gotten. Darma is another one of the little girls on the street and they picked out the little duckies you see in Nate's hands...
I must say Alli was the most thrilled with what she got. One by one she took everything out of her basket to look at and did not want any help from us and especially not Nate who was sitting next to her. I saw her reach for Nate and he had picked up something she had laid out of her goodies and she took it back and said "no that Alli's."
They all tasted their suckers they are eating in these pictures with the paper on so they got to try them out with no paper also...
They all did really well the main problem was that no one liked the sticky part! They would lick and slobber and then want their hands washed. It was too cute! Nate would with a big sad look say "stickie" and want it off now...
Alli did great and could not wait to get in her chair when I asked if they wanted a bite.
After the suckers they were in great need of a bath and Amy, Nicholas, Katlyn and her friend Paige came just in the nick of time to help us take really fast baths. It was in and out and diapered and brushed (brushing is the treatment we are doing for all babies due to sensory issues) and lotioned and jamies (our pumpkin jamies from Children's Place for 2.50) on in record time. Then it was off to discover more loot! Aunt Amy and the kids brought us more goodies.
Amy is Nate's godmother.

and Connie is Alli's. We didn't to bad we only didn't see two our of six godparents. All in all we had a great day and evening. Happy Halloween!
